Job Summary
We are seeking a Youth Coordinator to take an active role in overseeing the design and implementation of programs and/or activities to support youth education and development, in line with the goals and objectives of IANL. The successful candidate will have proven experience working in this field to ensure effective youth engagement, provide access to safe spaces and trained mentors, and promote growth in character traits among young people.

Key Outcomes:
- Deliver face to face youth work, and build and maintain positive relationships with young people so that this demographic is represented and part of the community.
- Work with key stakeholders across IANL to identify the needs of young people and assist in the delivery of personal development programmes.
- Support IANL in enhancing the charity’s understanding of the challenges faced within its reachable community
- To monitor and evaluate youth work in consultation with colleagues and young people.
- To encourage young people to actively participate in the decision making processes of the programme.
- To be aware of and implement IANL Safeguarding, Health and Safety policies and procedures.
- To participate in regular performance reviews and be prepared to undertake training courses appropriate to the role.
- To be accountable and responsible for carrying out the duties and responsibilities of the post with due regard to IANL
- To undertake any other such duties commensurate within the grade of the post, as required.
Responsibilities
The Youth Coordinator will be responsible for the following:

Effectiveness | Evaluate the effectiveness of youth engagement programs and develop strategies to improve interactions with young people in the local area |
Engagement |
Build strong relationships with young people accessing youth services Build strong relationships with people/organisations that can have a beneficial impact on young people, based on their needs. |
Impact Measurement | Measure the impact of the youth engagement framework on young people via qualitative and quantitative research methods. |
Team | Identify and assign appropriate staff and volunteer roles for running weekly youth engagement sessions |
Space | Ensure appropriate setup for running weekly youth engagement sessions |
Resources/Facilities | Understand the needs and ensure access to adequate resources and facilities for young people attending weekly youth engagement sessions |
Policies | Develop and implement policies and processes to safeguard young people accessing youth services on-site and off-site. |
Marketing | Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote youth engagement services to the local community |
Finances | Manage and plan finances related to youth engagement work |
Qualifications and Skills
Qualification | Skills |
Recognised Qualification or equivalent, L2/3 or higher JNC is desirable | Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with young people |
Experience | Experience working with young people in a community setting and other community/charity work. |
Knowledge | Knowledge of policies and processes related to safeguarding young people accessing youth services |
Budgeting Experience | Financial management and planning skills, with the ability to manage budgets for youth engagement programs |

Conditions of role:
This post will result in you having contact with children and youth, some of whom may be of vulnerable age or status.
