As Ramadan approaches, we are excited to launch our Iftar and Suhoor Sponsorship Campaign. During this blessed month, the mosque provides a warm and nutritious meal to those who are fasting, allowing everyone to break their fast in community. For the first 20 nights, we host Iftar every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday and during the last 10 nights of Ramadan, we also offer Iftar and Suhoor every night to feed those in need. With your support, we can make this possible, and we invite you to be a part of this rewarding initiative.
The Cost of Feeding a Community
Each night, the mosque provides Iftar for up to 200 people. On average, the cost of one Iftar is £1,000. Over the course of Ramadan, we budget a total of £20,000 to ensure no one is left hungry as they break their fast. This is where you come in. By sponsoring an Iftar or Suhoor, you can help us provide these essential meals, and in return, you will earn the reward from Allah for feeding the fasting and giving charity.
How You Can Help: Sponsorship Options
We’ve created a range of sponsorship options to accommodate everyone’s generosity. Here’s how you can contribute:
- Sponsor a Full Iftar: £1,000 – Feed up to 200 people with one night’s Iftar.
- Sponsor Half an Iftar: £500
- Sponsor a number of meals: £5 per meal
Additionally, during the last 10 nights of Ramadan, we will offer both Iftar and Suhoor.
The Blessing of Feeding the Fasting
The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said: “Whoever gives a fasting person something to break their fast with, will receive the same reward as him without diminishing anything from the reward of the fasting person.” (Tirmidhi)
This is an opportunity for you to multiply your rewards in this blessed month. By feeding one fasting person, you receive the reward for their fast in addition to your own, and this can be multiplied by the number of people you feed. Imagine the immense reward for feeding the entire community, especially in the blessed nights of Ramadan.
