Letter from the Police:

Dear Resident,
We are writing to you jointly as your local policing leaders responsible for Neighbourhood Policing in Barnet.

We would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a blessed and peaceful Ramadan, and reassure you of our policing plan during this period.

We understand this is a time for families and loved ones to come together to fast and fulfil religious obligations and it is hugely important you all feel safe during this period. We have worked closely with members of our Independent Advisory Group, Muslim Community Leaders and the Barnet MultiFaith Forum and our Neighbourhood teams: using our experience of policing past events to put together a policing plan to keep you safe during this period.

Our plan means that you may see police officers visiting Mosques and community centres in the community during Ramadan – this is to provide a visible and reassuring presence during the Holy Month. Please do come and say hello to your local officers during their patrols, and if you have concerns, please do raise this with officers.

We are always keen to hear more from our local community, and if you would like to get in touch with your local officers, they can be contacted via www.met.police.uk/area/your-area If you need to report crime, you can do this through our website met.police.uk or by calling us on 101. In an emergency always dial 999. On behalf of the Metropolitan Police, we would like to wish you a happy, safe and peaceful Ramadan.

Ramadan Mubarak
