Lead Ramadan Steward Required

Ramadan will see large volumes of people attending the mosque for Taraweeh prayers each evening. The Prophet (SAW) said the one who signposts towards good deeds, gets a share of that good deed. Role requirements

• To lead, manage and organise Ramadan stewards in the whole mosque throughout Ramadan including:
  • identifying the number and type of volunteers needed
  • Interviewing applicants as required
  • provide training to stewards
  • welcoming new and existing volunteers
  • guiding, directing, instructing and providing regular feedback to stewards in the brothers and sisters areas
  • liaising with the sisters Ramadan stewards team lead
  • managing, logging and troubleshooting any conflicts and escalations with the stewards and mussaleen, and reporting such to the Head of Operations
  • liaising with the security team
  • making decisions with kindness, fairness and impartiality
  • leading and instructing in the event of an emergency
• To know, understand and apply all IANL policies following the Ramadan handbook (including children at taraweeh), and ensure all the stewards are aware of these and follow them, including dung emergencies
• To help plan and facilitate a smooth and peaceful flow of people entering and exiting the masjid to worship during Ramadan.

Skills needed

• Strong time management skills
• Availability to come to the mosque earlier than other volunteer stewards
• Ability to train volunteer stewards prior to and possibly during Ramadan
• Ability to communicate effectively using Whatsapp groups
• Team leadership skills and ability to work as part of a team, reporting to the Head of Operations
