Weekly Halaqas at Finchley Mosque
From September 2026, we are pleased to announce that we are running three regular halaqas each week. All are free, none require registration, and all are open to both brothers and sisters.
Whether you have five minutes after Dhuhr or an evening once a week, there is a class here for you.
📖 Tafsir Ten by Ten
Fridays, after Maghrib Salah · Starting Friday 18 September 2026 · Sh A. Hasan
A weekly tafsir taking ten verses at a time, explored through classical tafsir, spirituality, tarbiyah, psychology and practical lessons. The format is inspired by the methodology of the Companions رضي الله عنهم, who are reported to have learned ten verses of the Qur’an and not moved beyond them until they had understood and acted upon them.

A 10 Week Journey Through the Miracles of the Last Messenger. Suitable for all ages and levels, including first-time halaqa attendees.
⏳ Exhortations & Admonitions
Every day, after Dhuhr Salah · Sh A. Hasan
A short daily hadith reading and explanation, lasting 5–10 minutes, drawn from Imam al-Mundhiri’s Al-Targhib wa Al-Tarhib — a classical collection organised around encouragement towards good and warning against harm.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need to register or pay?
No. All four halaqas are free and open to walk-ins.
Do I need any prior Islamic study?
No. All four classes are taught in English and pitched to be accessible to everyone, including those new to Islamic study and new Muslims.
Can I bring my children?

What if I miss a week?
Each session stands on its own — you can join at any point in the series.
Is there parking?
Street parking is available nearby. The mosque is a short walk from Woodside Park and West Finchley stations.
