Quran Competition at IANL Mosque

In the heart of our vibrant community, we are proud to host host our first Quran Competition. This is a special event that promises to be both spiritually uplifting and a demonstration of devotion, mastery, and profound love for the Holy Qur’an.

The competition is set to take place on Saturday, 20th of July (after Dhuhr) and is designed to bring together young brothers aged 10-24 years old in a display of their dedication, skill, and deep connection to the Holy Quran.

Time: After Dhuhr Salah
Age Group: 10-24 years old – Brothers only.
Location: North Finchley Mosque, First floor

Categories and Judging Criteria

The competition is divided into three groups to ensure that participants are matched according to their level of memorisation:

  • Group A: Full Quran
  • Group B: First 20 Parts
  • Group C: First 10 Parts

Each participant will be evaluated on three critical aspects:

  • Hifdh (Memorisation): The ability to recall and recite the Quran from memory.
  • Fluency: The smoothness and accuracy of the recitation.
  • Tajweed: The correct pronunciation and articulation of Quranic verses.

Our esteemed panel of judges are:

  • Imam Hamid
  • Imam Oussama
  • Brother Sabri

All are experts in Quranic recitation and Islamic studies and will assess each participant’s performance to ensure a fair and rewarding experience for all.

Additional Highlights

  • Prizes: Prizes will be awarded for each category: Group A, Group B, Group C.
  • Food and Refreshments: Food and refreshments will be available throughout the event.
  • Community Spirit: This competition is not just for the participants but for the entire community. Families, friends, and community members are encouraged to come and support the young reciters.

This event provides a valuable platform for young boys to showcase their hard work, dedication, and knowledge of the Quran.
