This week Parliament passed legislation for a second nationwide lockdown beginning on Thursday 5 November until Wednesday 2 December in an attempt to limit the spread of Covid-19.

The legislation prohibits places of worship from hosting congregational prayers. As a result IANL will no longer open for daily salawat in congregation; Jummah will also be suspended during this period.

Open for Individual Salah

Unlike during the previous lockdown, places of worship are permitted to open for individual prayers. IANL will therefore open twice a day as follows:

  • 12:45pm-1:45pm (Saturday – Thursday); and
  • 6pm-7pm (7 days a week).

During these times musalleen are welcome to attend for individual prayers or general dhikr but will not be permitted to pray in congregation.

Safety Arrangements

Attendees must bring their own:

  • face mask
  • prayer mat
  • bag for shoes

These items will no longer be provided by IANL.

Wudhu facilities will also remain closed.

If you feel unwell

In order to protect others and limit the spread of the virus, musalleen are asked not to attend if they are unwell or experiencing symptoms of Covid-19.

We pray that Allah keeps you all safe and that you find ease in these hard times. Ameen.
