Assalamu alaikum,
IANL is working to ensure a safe reopening of the mosque as early as possible. Risk assessments are being carried out at site and we are in the process of formulating new procedures for staff and attendees that adhere to public health guidelines, in consultation with other Islamic centres and local health organisations.
When the mosque eventually reopens, there will be significant changes from what we were used to. There will be a need for us to observe social distancing and strict hygiene measures. Inevitably the available space will limit the number of attendees, and some of us who are individually at higher risk will need to be cautious about attending gatherings.
Prior to opening we will be running pilot sessions with staff and a handful of volunteers to test the new procedures. We are planning to hold online information sessions to help explain the new procedures. We will also provide a timeline for a phased reopening in due course inshaAllah.
Our community has supported the mosque through its closure and inshaAllah with your support we would like the re-opening to be a successful and safe reopening. We intend to keep you up to date with progress in the days and weeks ahead inshaAllah.
You may have suggestions and questions about the reopening process and the new operating procedures. We will be very pleased to hear from you by email at [email protected].
Jazakumallah khairan for your patience, understanding and for your continued support while the building has been closed.
