Our Collective Mission: £5,000 Per Team for a Thriving Finchley Mosque

The “Ramadan 2 Ramadan” challenge is a bold one: 100 dedicated teams, each striving to raise £5,000. Imagine the collective impact! These funds are crucial for:

  • Enhancing our prayer facilities and creating a more welcoming space for all.
  • Expanding our educational programmes for children and adults.
  • Strengthening our community welfare projects and outreach.
  • Ensuring the long-term sustainability and growth of Finchley Mosque.

 

Your Fundraising Toolkit & How to Get Started

We’re here to make your fundraising journey as smooth and successful as possible.

1) Your Branded LaunchGood Page:

    • Every team will receive a personalised LaunchGood fundraising page, already branded for Finchley Mosque’s “Ramadan 2 Ramadan” initiative.
    • This is your central online hub for collecting donations, sharing updates, and tracking your incredible progress.
    • All team pages will be linked to our main R2R LaunchGood campaign page, which you can view here: IANL Ramadan 2 Ramadan
    • Encourage your team members to share their unique page link far and wide – with friends, family, colleagues, and across all their social media platforms!

2) Ways to Raise Funds – Inspire and Be Inspired!

  • Participate in Mosque-Led Events:
    • Finchley Mosque will be developing a calendar of flagship fundraising events. We’ll be looking for your input and participation to make these a huge success!
    • Keep an eye on emails from the Core Team and our main Mosque communications for announcements. If you have ideas for larger Mosque-led events, please share them with the Core Team.
  • Host Your Own Event – Unleash Your Creativity!
    This is where your team can truly shine! Think about what skills and passions your team members have. Here are some successful ideas from past Finchley Mosque fundraising efforts:
      • Sponsored Challenge: Like our “Snowdon Trek,” where 25 intrepid trekkers climbed Mount Snowdon and raised an amazing £12,000! Could your team do a sponsored walk, run, cycle or even some other fun challenge?
      • Team Activity: Our “Dragon Boat Race” saw 20 brothers form a team and paddle for the Mosque. What unique team challenge could you devise?
      • Community Fair: The “Sisters Fun Day” was a vibrant fair with delicious cakes, food, henna, and more, bringing the community together while raising funds.
      • Other ideas: Bake sales, car washes, skills workshops (e.g., calligraphy, cooking), online gaming tournaments, quiz nights, community iftars (with fundraising element).

Important: To ensure we can support you and avoid any clashes, please coordinate all self-hosted events with our Core Team (details below) before you finalize dates and plans.

  • Drive Direct Donations:
    • Actively encourage one-off donations through your team’s LaunchGood page.
    • Highlight the option for supporters to set up regular monthly donations. Even small, consistent contributions make a huge difference over the “Ramadan 2 Ramadan” period.

  • To ensure we make the most of everyone’s efforts and avoid overwhelming our community with too many events at once, please contact the Core Team before you finalize plans for any self-hosted event. This allows us to provide tailored support, help promote your event where appropriate, and maintain a strategic overview of all activities.
